Romeo&Julie!

Asterions Hus has taken on the greatest Shakespearean love story ever. Never has there been this much 'joie de vivre' in playing dead!

Time & place

June 14th at 17.00-18.00

The lawn in front of Kasernen, Teaterøen, William Wains Gade 11, 1432 Copenhagen, Denmark

About the event

Asterions Hus has taken upon themselves to portray the greatest Shakespearean love story ever made. We have managed to create a touching, high-paced and humorous performance. 24 acts, 24 waist holds, 24 detours and 24 tributes to the many faces and endings of love. In our hands the beautiful Shakespearean text unfolds with everything from worm dance and sumo wrestlers in love to gardener choirs and tender ballet in wheel barrows. Never has there been this much 'joie de vivre' in playing dead!

Since the Danish theatres have permission to open again after June 8th we want to celebrate with a tribute to love – with an outdoor performance with plenty of space for reasonable distance.

The performance is produced in 2013 and has toured near and afar in various languages. Martin Ammundsen has been acting the performance all the years, but Romeo will now be played by Peter Kirk as he is the husband of Tilde Knudsen and we can therefore safely and lawfully perform the kissing acts ;)

Performers: Tilde Knudsen and Peter Kirk
Director: Peter Kirk
